Kim McDonald has been making fluid art for more than a decade. Working primarily in acrylics until recent years when she jumped eagerly into the world of resin.
A retired radio announcer, Kim began her love affair with acrylics while working as a Large Events Coordinator, in the Seattle area. From the very beginning, painting with a brush and easel didn’t feel natural to the artist, so she began to paint by laying her canvases on the kitchen table or the kitchen floor, playing with consistencies and mediums and tilting the canvas to create layered pieces of art.

In 2015 Kim was honored by the award winning regional winery, Goose Ridge Winery and Estates. When they chose her to be the spotlight artist, in their successful yearly artist series. Four pieces of Kim’s art were used as labels on specialty wines sold that year.

Today Kim is a full time Fluid Artist, based in Tri-Cities, Washington, where she is active in the local art scene and teaches weekly classes on fluid acrylics and resin, while also maintaining her website and YouTube channel.
